Managing Improvement

Continuous improvement and the principles of excellence cannot be 'done' to people. Our operating principles include:

• Working with you to define your vision and methods of getting there.
• Equipping you to drive improvement, transferring the necessary skills.
• Focusing on people & processes within an overall change management framework.
• Building the management understanding, involvement and commitment.

Finding the time and enthusiasm for improvement is not easy when everyone is busy with the "day job".   Improvement principles may be simple -implementation is much more difficult.

TQMI use a four-step change process:

  • Diagnosis
Where are we now?  - What are we good at doing? - What could we do better?
  • Focus
Where do we want to be? - What are the improvement priorities? - What are realistic improvement targets?
  • Improvement
How will we get there? - How far are we from where we want to be? - What methods are relevant and appropriate? - What is going to help and hinder the changes?
  • Review
How are we doing? - How will we measure success and achievement? - How will we keep momentum going over time?

Where are you now?

Which of these statements best represents the current situation for your organisation?

"We understand the principles of continuous improvement but we need help to find a practical way to turn principles into practice"

"We are very experienced in continuous improvement but need help with some of the more advanced techniques that are emerging"

"We have undertaken many initiatives in the name of improvement but we don't seem to have linked them all together into a cohesive improvement plan or process"

"We have done quite a lot of improvement work but we are not really clear how to measure our progress"

"We need help to educate our people and to develop the skills and knowledge that are necessary to gain the full benefits of continuous improvement"

Whichever statement best reflects your situation TQMI can help.  As a consultancy at the leading edge of improvement we constantly research and support new approaches to improvement. We also recognise that the improvement process must pay dividends for you.
